The Game
What is kōnane?
Kōnane is a two-player strategy game from Hawaiʻi, played by jumping over your opponent's stones. Although it has some resemblance to checkers, there are also major differences. For example, the last player to move wins.

Accounts & Playing
Do I need an account to play?
No. You can play as a guest immediately. Create an account for additional features such as a rating, game history, and to join tournaments.
Can I change my username?
One-time username change requests are allowed from your profile page.
What are correspondence games?
Games where each player has a day or more per move, so you can play at your own pace instead of in real time. Start one from the lobby.
Ratings & Fair Play
How does the rating system work?
Likōnane uses a Glicko-2 rating, similar to lichess and many other game sites. Your rating updates after every rated game and converges faster while it's still provisional (shown with a "?").
What happens if my opponent disconnects or abandons a game?
If a player doesn't move for a while, the game is forfeited to their opponent.
How do I report cheating or abuse?
Use the report option on a player's profile, or contact a moderator through the forum.

What's the board editor for?
The board editor lets you set up any position and analyze it, share it, or start a game from it.
Where can I talk with other players?
The forum, including an announcements section for site news.
Can I watch other people's games?
Yes, the TV page shows a featured live game, and the current games page shows games in progress.
